This will be our new blog site so we invite you to follow along once in awhile.
All is well down here. We have had close to 15 inches of rain, and the lake is way up, due to dams north of us being opened up. Today it is at 692 feet above sea level, 2 weeks ago it was at 654 feet. 695 feet is the height they will have when they reach flood pool. So there is a possibility that if we get more rain in the next few days, the flood gates might have to be opened. They have not had to do that since April of 2008. That was the first year we came down and looked over the area. We remember being at the Lakeview Marina and seeing the water way up. Very close to what it is now. At the present time, for us to access our pontoon boat, we have to be shuttled out there in pontoon boats.

This is the fellow that took us out to the slip last week . Quite the site compared to just a few weeks back! It was very low then, so much higher now.
The second picture shows a view to the north where normally you would see a long flight of stairs coming down to the dock. They are submerged now. But the lake can still be accessed, so we along with a lot of others just have to cope with this inconvenience. But we realize the effort it takes for them to keep it operational, and I am sure everyone appreciates that.

We had a couple visitors last weekend John and his friend Don. Had a really nice time visiting and fishing on the river. Had some pretty good luck too. Brought home close to 20 trout, the largest was caught by Don............14.5 inches.
Today we had 4 generators running, so we had no problem getting up through the shoots to Stetsons. That was where we fished for a good hour and had a great time, some nice ones were in that same area last weekend when I took John and Don up there. So a great afternoon on the river as always. I called and they had dropped to two, so we fished one float down to Sportsman and then called it quits. Didn't have any shrimp along so we had to really work for them. Great time we had together on the "Best Moms day"!!
That is about it for this first issue of the news from down here in the beautiful Ozark Mountains. So if you would like to follow along again, put this in your favorites or bookmarks section.
So till the next time, take care
Bob and Kathy
