Summer is closing in on us here in Northern Arkansas. The first weekend of May is fore casted to be close to 90 degrees.
The winter we had was fantastic compared to the first two we have experienced here. Only 1 and1/2 inches of snowfall, and that was the second week of December, 2011. The lowest it got was in the mid 20's.......so we sure enjoyed that season. We still have 2 months of spring left, but the temps are rising.
This spring we had 10 tons of black dirt brought in to add on to Kath's beautiful garden area, and 5 tons of pea gravel dropped in the driveway, to cover some areas in the garden. We have a lot of pictures we could add to this blog of her garden, but one of our favorites includes this squirrel who visited our new water feature we have put in to Kath's garden.
We have been fishing on the river, and on the lake this spring. The river is a bit slow fishing as is the lake for us. We did have a good evening about a week ago on the lake. We both caught nice catfish in the 15" to 18" range......you can guess who had the longest! I did catch the first one though! ha ha
We have the pontoon ready for the season, and really look forward to some good times relaxing on it this summer.
We are doing just fine, a few new aches show up once in awhile, but I keep telling myself we earned them through the years!
As we go through the summer season, we will post a blog once in awhile. I will let you all know when I post it.
So till then, take care everyone, and enjoy the rest of springtime!
Bob and Kathy
