"Ozark Autumns"
In North Central Arkansas, you can take a drive over to an area known as the Boxley Valley. And see a truly beautiful site on an afternoon in autumn. Not only can you take in all the fall colors of the surroundings, but have the opportunity to see a herd of elk up close. The afternoon we had the chance to get there was absolutely perfect. The outside temperature was close to 80 degrees. We saw a herd of 21 elk, grazing right along the road. They are on private land, right alongside the Buffalo river that winds its way through the area. The fall colors were fantastic. We had a nice dinner in the town of Jasper at the Ozark Cafe...we strongly recommend it.
Yesterday afternoon I had returned home from the marina, after getting the boat secured better for the changing weather we are to be getting, and decided to sit out front on our porch. I was enjoying the warm afternoon weather, watching the leaves falling, and was remembering back 3 years ago what it was like to be sitting on that old sagging wooden deck we had then. Now we have a nice roof over a concrete porch that one can sit back and really enjoy the outdoors, and the beautiful fall colors we have here this year.
