The forecast for this weekend is for rain, coming up from the gulf due to the storm "Issac".
Three years ago the first weekend of September, we drove through rain for close to eight hours to get here with everything we owned. Now as we look back, we have accomplished so much in a short three years. I don't think I would care to start all over, with all the work we have put into the "Cozy Cottage". I don't think I could get the things done now as fast as I did back then. My energy level has gone down dramatically in three short years.
We have the house pretty much finished, but there will always be things that we would like to change as time goes on I am sure. We still are undecided what we would like to do about changing the carpet that is still original. But other then the last closet being repainted that I have procrastinated about, the house has been pretty much put into what we had envisioned.
We have had three years to enjoy the outdoors of Northern Arkansas. Fishing on the river from our boat, catching rainbow and brown trout. Kath has caught some pretty good size catfish in the lake too. I have had the experience of learning to fly fish the river, and enjoy it more then I ever would have thought I would. The wildlife we see on a regular basis is fantastic.
Having the pontoon boat has been a great source of entertainment for us and the family when they come down. We have enjoyed many nights out on the boat in coves, looking at the beautiful starlit skies. The grand kids have had fun on the lake tubing, and wake boarding. And there is nothing like getting into the water on such a clear lake and enjoying just laying back, relaxing.
Something we are going to try to do more of, is short trips around the area, to see things that we have not taken the time for. An example is an old "Grist Mill" called Hodgsons Mill, North of here about 50 miles. Not only was the mill a really interesting thing to see, but the beautiful scenery to and from on the 1/2 day trip was beautiful.
So we think we can say now after these three years, we have pretty much adjusted to our surroundings, our home, and the daily life here in the hills of Northern Arkansas.
So till the next time, take care
Bob and Kathy
